Will Xcom Enemy Unknown Be For Mac

A few days ago, 2K Games announced that they’ll be porting over last year’s stellar XCOM: Enemy Unknown to iOS. Not a watered down port or spin-off, the full game itself with all its bells and whistles as seen on the PC. Oddly enough, the game wasn’t even available for the Mac itself. Until now. Today, Firaxis sent out word that XCOM: Enemy Unknown will be making its way to the Mac on April 25th.

A sequel to XCOM: Enemy Unknown, XCOM 2, was released on February 5, 2016. It was developed by Firaxis Games and was released on Microsoft Windows, OS X and Linux. The game takes place 20 years after the events of Enemy Unknown, in an alternate scenario where XCOM failed to stop the alien invasion and humanity surrenders. XCOM: Enemy Unknown will expand on that legacy with an entirely new invasion story, enemies and technologies to fight aliens and defend Earth. You will control the fate of the human race through researching alien technologies, creating and managing a fully operational base, planning combat missions and controlling soldier movement in battle.

The game will be arriving for the Mac in the form of an Elite edition which will ship with the Slingshot and Elite Soldier Pack DLCs, as well as the Second Wave update, which includes a series of gameplay modifiers that adds a whole new level of depth. Like the Windows version, LAN and Online multiplayer modes will also be included.
